Congrats Girisha!

A lot was said when the Olympics was going on.

About the lack of infrastructure in India. About the attitude of the players. About the politics that exists in the Sports arena in the country. About the lapses in creating eminent sportsmen. About the hype that exists only around cricket.

Well, I came across this news a little while ago.

Girisha Hosanagara Nagarajegowda  has bagged the silver in the Mens High Jump event at the Paralympic Games in London.

The hype or the noise is definitely lesser!

Here goes a huge salute to EVERY INDIAN

Who motivated him
Who gave him the opportunity
Who gave him the required infrastructure
Who helped in his training
Who encouraged him
Who moulded him

I dont know what happens in the preparation for Olympics. But I have country men who have toiled for a physically challenged person to prove his prowess and shine in the eyes of the world. HATS OFF to all who contributed towards this achievement!

  4. Cheers to Girisha!! May his tribe increase!!

You know Jaish I feel very sad to see the state of affairs in our country. There are some sports which receive hyper attention while some deserving ones are lost without any noise... I fail to understand their logic behind this though.

    1. Hi Me

Every nation will have some sport which is like life to them...For us somehow its cricket and we are quite good at it and so nothing wrong about the attention. Having said that its high time the talents in other sports field are recognized and helped to come up. For that families, educational institutes and the governments have to work hand in hand!

  22. Lovely post Jayashree. This man Girisha is a true inspiration and an embodiment of hope and faith for everyone who dares to dream. What he has achieved is no mean feat and he deserves much more credit and recognition than that has come his way. And certainly every man and woman who has stood by him and has motivated and pushed him towards his goal needs a salute.
